SYDNEY, July 1, (Received July 1, at 10.2 a.m.) The Mayor of Glen Innes has furnished the health authorities with a report in regard to the slaughter and subsequent use of starved stock. He alleges that- some large meat-canning works iu Sydney are purchasing thousands of starved sheep, cattle, stags, old bulls, and old rams for canning purposes. Many, he says, of the .sheep so purchased dropped dead .in the yard,\ they were so emaciated, and in a great number or .intances they were in a dropsical condition.
