WELLINGTON, .Time 29. Very little interest so far seems to be (alien in the opening of Parliament on Tuesday, but a few members are beginning to arrive, and the Speaker has taken up his quarters in his rooms in Parliament House. This is the third and last sossion of the fourteenth Parliament of New Zealand. The D Halt-cry will fire the salute?, the Hcretannga Mounted Rifles will furnish the escort, and the Wellington College Cadets will form a. guard of honour. The Garrison Band will also bo in attendance.
The Hon. W. .1. Steward intends again to bring forward his Elective Executive Bill this session.
The Stato Fire Insurance Bill will be submitted in exactly the form in which it was brought before the House last session.
The Government will, it is stated, introduce a bill to amend in some minor particulars the Publio School Teachcrs' Salaries Act of Inst session. In view of llio state of impecuniosity into which several education boards liavo fallen of lite, the measure may be cxpcctcd to give rise to an interesting debate. An attempt- will probably he made to increase the allowance under tho act from PA to £4 2s 63.
Mr Field lias decided to contest the altered Otaki seat, and Mr Wilford will probably content the Suburbs or the new Ilutt seat.
