Next morning about 7.30 she insisted on getting up, and whilst her husband was getting breakfast ready the deceased wont out in tho yard, reluming in a few minutes and informing her husband that she had taken poison to make them all mad. Sho obtained some roupjh on rat», which her husband had purchased toco months previously for poisoning rats, out of a box in a sited. Tho husband at once went off for n.'siisiancc, and telephoned for_ Dγ Hielop, of I'almerston. Dr Hislop arrived about 1 p.m., and remained for some two hours, giving deceased every attention. Dβccased_ was treated according to the doctor's directions, but she gradually janlc, and died at 4 p.m. Previons to the arrival of Dr Hiilop emetic 3 had been administered, which caused deceased to vomit. The jury returned a verdict of suicide whilst in a staje el .to*pprary jnsanity.
