Tlie final of the Hen's Handicap Singles in (ho Otago Lawn Tennis Association's touriiament was got off on Saturday afternoon. ' The two lo meet were C. 11. Uro-id (owe 401 and E. Salmond (owe 15 1-0), mid the former proved Iho victor by nine game* to live. At the outset Salmond played very sw;nd tennis, and won the first three games, lie then fell uwoy, while Bro:nl showed considerable improvement on his previous form, his volleying and placing being excellent. At the mm time he put up a number of short lobs, which, lint for Salinond's weak smashing, uiiplit liave got him into trouble. There were u number of line rullic3. Salmond got himself nut of the difficulties several times by half-volleying, but very frequently, after making n succession of admirable strobes, finished up with n weak one. This finished the Umrmunciit.
