CRIMINAL SESSIONS.

Johnston, charged at the Police Court with intent to defraud by false pretence and to obtain from the- Kauri Comber Company £500. also with intent to defraud by ;i destroyed receipt, signed F. and W. S. Foiito, for'£7so, the property, of tho Kauri Timber Company, was remanded to iloiiday next. WELLINGTON, nlay 6. The criminal sessions opened io-day. The Chief Justice commented on the prevalence of sexual offences, of which three appeared on the calendar. Thomas Invin, alias Joseph Kerr, and Alexander Stopleton pleaded guilty to breaking and entering, and were remanded to enable inquiries to be made. John Gregg, charged with indecent assault on a, girl 13 years of age, v.-iis found guilty, and remanded for sentence. No bill was returned against Jong Lespensby, charged with indecent assault.
