A CHARGE OF ARSON
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKtiAXD, May 6. As a result of the inquiry touching the recent fire at Wiiikino, whereby five places were destroyed, a min named Edward Williams, whuse fancy goeds depot was aUo burned, mis brought before the Polii.o Court to-day on a charge, of arson, but, at the request of the police, was remanded to Waihi for eight days, bail being allowed. The verdict of the jury nt the iuquiry was: "That Edward Williams did set fire to his place at Wnikino." They also added a, rider to the effect Iliat the action of P. Wnberley, agent for the Imperial Company, in accepting a fire risk without proper investigation was reprehensible.
