It hits been definitely decided that the official reception <>f the royal party in Wellington shall take place opposite the Baud Rotunda, Jevvois ijimy. A stiind to aceommodate 400 people will be erected tliere by the (jovcrmnenf. The party will probivbly land at the Queen's wharf in the Opliir's barge. The Bub-committee appointed by the executive of the Royal Reception Committee waited on several-firms yesterday morning for the purpose of discussing the question of illuminatmr; and demoting the plnces of bupinesa during tin: visit of (lieir Koyol Highucsf?.'i. 'fiie committee in all inHimecs were most favourably received. The following firms, in addition to agreeing to illuminate- and decorate their respective wemises, subjrribed the undermentioned amounts to the general fluid required for festooning Hie streets:— Mcsjiv Reid and Cray, 11. E. fihaekloek, Da'.gclv and Co.. BriEcoe and Co., £5 5s each: Coseons and Black, H. Harraway, J{. AVilsou and Co., A. Morilßjou and Co., A. Thomson (Crawford street), A. Tlinmpron (Princes street), £2 2s each; Stone, Son, and Co., £1 If; and Mrs Parker, 10s 6d. The Union Steam Ship Company intimated that they intendr.ti tn illuminate in a most elaborate style, nnd that they would be pleased to subscribe liberally in conjunction with tlie other shipping companies to the coat of erecting an arch representing ihc shipping induslrief. The committee woald be pleased if tho.v firm? not waited upon would communicate with the secretary and advi?e him if they purpose decorating' and rendering financial assistance to the genera! fund.
