Press Association—By Tcloguph-Copyrigbt. • SYDNEY, May 6. (Received May 6, at 9.55 a.m.) The departure of the Sonoma lias, been fixed for Thursday neit, the 9th inst. (Per U.vited Press Association - .) ; ' AUCKLAND, May 6. The Ventura arrived from San Francisco to-night. Though leaving San Francisco <me> day late, she reached Auckland on the due date, thus beating all previous records. WELLINGTON. May 6. In consequence of the Sonoma not leaving Auckland before Monilay, tho General Post Office has made fresh arrangements for the despatch of mails. The Monowai will leave Lyttelton on Friday, and on her arrival liere a special train will run through to New Plymouth. The Sonoma is timed to leave Sydney on Thursday.
