WELLINGTON REGATTA.

(Per United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON. January 22. The anniversary regatta, of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held to-day in favourable weather. There was a north-west wind, which varied slightly in power, but was never more than moderately strong. Much interest was taken in the meeting of the Auckland .vacht .Rainbow and the Wellington yacht Waitangi. They were the only two that competed in the race for first class yachts. Tlie Rainbow sailed the cburse of 27 knots in l&min 21sec less time than the Waitangi, Including her time allowance of 9min SOsec, tho Rainbow won by 26min Usee. The first race for second class yachts was won by the Atlantic, and the second race by Mahina. In the first race for half-raters Rurn was the winner, and Maroro won the second race. The large entry of second class yachts was the feature of the regetta.
