ARRIVAL AT THE BLUFF. (Per United Press Association'.) BLUFF, January 21. 1 The Hinemoa lias arrived from the Southern Islands, with Lord Ranfurly and party. During the trip the Snares, the Aucklands, the Campbell, the Antipodes, and Bounty Islands were visited in turn, his Excellency landing at all the places touched at. (Fbom Our Own CoEitEsroNDFAT.) WELLINGTON, January 21. ; Private advices received here by telegram to-day state that Lord Ranfnrly's trip to the outlying islands was most enjoyable and successful. The object of his going was to obtain specimens of birds for the British Musenm. Many were obtained, amongst them being two good specimens of the Merganser Australia, now almost extinct, and two species of birds apparently new to science. The entire collection is preserved whole in formalin, and will be forwarded to England bf thfl first steamer. Fine weather was experienced on the cruise.
