CASUALTIES.
(Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, January 9. A dairyman named James Lobb was killed this morning. He was driving a. trap, when the shaft broke and the horse commenced to plunge. Lobb was thrown, from his seat, and received a kick on the head, death being almost instantaneous. V PALMERSTON NORTH, January 9. An elderly man named Charles Hammer, an engineer on the,railway, this afternoon walked in front of the engine while shunting near the (foods shed and was knocked down and killed.
