Press Assooiation—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 8. (Received Jan. 8, at 3.15 p.m.) The National Rifle meeting commenced this morning with the first stage of the Queen Victoria. Match. A fluky, cool breeze was blowing. (Received Jan. 8, at 11.13 p.m.) The greater part of 'the day at the National Rifle Association meeting was occupicd with the first stage of the Queen Victoria Match, at 400, 500, and 600 yards ranges. The .prizes in this match amount to £1000. The top scorer, to-day was Private Gnrgett, of Victoria, with 98. The New Zealanders' scores were: —Robinson 88, Loveday 87, M'Carfchv and Winslade 85 each, J., Wilson 85, Ballinaer 82; Stedman 80, King 79, Shepherd 73, Gatiand 77 ( Holland 76, Jones and Dodcls 75, Ingpen 74, Tobin 72, Cox and M'Gregor 70, Wilson (£ eilding) 68, Pritchmar 55.1
