A WEDDING.

A pretty wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Stafford street, on Wednesday afternoon-at-1 o'clock, when Mr A. E. Johns, of Chrintchurch, and Miss Maggie Rodger, daughter of Mr Thomas Rodger, were united. The minister officiating was Mr Charles Watt, of the Tabernacle, Great King street. The bride looked charming in a cream silk zephyr, with chiffon and satin trimmings;, a, bridal veil with orange blossoms, and in her hand a lovely bouquet of white flowers and maidenhair. The two bridesmaids, Phemy and Jeannio Rodger, were also very becomingly attired. At 3.30 Mr and Mrs Johns loft for their bridal tour amid nhowora of .rico and rose leaves. During the afternoon many warm wishes were expressed for their future happiness, and many kindly things said of tho usoful and honoured position held by Miss Rodger in connection with church work. The toasts were "The Tsrido and Bridegroom," by Mr Watt; The Parent- of the Bride," by Captain Stewart; " The Bridesmaids," by Mr C. L. Thomas, and responded to in a happy vein by iVlr James Routledge. Mr James Stokes spoke for the church choir. The bride was given away by her father, and the bridegroom was attended by Mr C. L. Thomas, of Leeston. Tho wedding presents were numerous, many being of- considerable value—one being ft cheque for £50, the gift of the bride from her father. ____•
