The Lawrence Borough Council invite TENDERS for the PURCHASE of— (1) 30 DEBENTURES of .£IOO each, being the amount required to be borrowed for the Repayment of an Existing Loan, maturing on 28th February, 1901. (2) 50 DEBENTURES of £100 each, being the amount required to be borrowed for tho purpose of Lighting the Borough of Lawrence with Electricity. Tenderers to state the rale of interest required. Tho Debentures will be for the term of twenty-one years, from the 25th February, 1901. Interest thereon will be. payable half-yearly on the 28th August and 28th February in each year. Principal and interest may be made payable in Dunedin or Lawrence at the option of the holders. The security for the loans will be the rents and revenue of the Borough of Lawrence, and ench Debenture and each coupon thereof is a debt of the corporation to the holders thereof. The Council will not necessarily accept any tender.
