APPLICATIONS are invited from STEAMSHIP OWNERS stating the SUBSIDY that would be required for a TWO (2) YEARS' SERVICE between NEW ZEALAND, WEST AUSTRALIA, and SOUTH AFRICA. The steamers would require to be of not less than about 4000 tons register, and lo have suitable REFRIGERATING ACCOMMODATION for the Conveyance of FROZEN MEAT and DAIRY PRODUCE. It is also desirable that PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION should be provided, and applicants will be required to state what passenger accommodation would lie available. The steamers to leave New Zealand about once every Six (G) Weeks; steamers culling at not less than Three (3) nor more than Six (G) New Zealand Ports, such ports to bo named in the conditions of contract.
