Sir A. Milner has cabled Mr Seddon that Trooper A. Chapman, of Amuri (third contingent), was slightly wounded, and Trooper W. J. Herford, of Napier (third contingent), severely wounded on the Ist August. . '• , :
Under date London, August 9, the Agentgeneral advises the Premier as follows: — "General Hunter reports that 4140 Boers were made prisoners in the Bethlehem and Harrismith districts "
[This merely confirms the capture of Commandant Prinsloo and his men on the 30th July.] :
