CAPTURE OF PEITSANG.
HONG-KONG, August 9. (Received August 9, at 9.45. p.m.)
The Japanese captured Peitsang on the sth. Heavy rains render the advance of .the Allies along the river road extremely difficult. The country is one huge lake. . (Received August 9, at 10.45 p.m.) The British and American troops assisted in the capture of Pietsang. Their casualties were slight. The Japanese losses were considerable. The warship Lizard has arrived here.
