CLEARING SALE AT HOOPER'S INLET.
Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report having held a clearing sale of clairy cowa, etc., at Hoop2r's Inlet-last Thursday on'account of Mr Richard Kerr. The day being fine, ar.d Mr Ken-having the reputation "o£ keeping ' firstclass stock, there was a large gathering of settlers and others, moat of .whom came to do business. Unfortunately, not very maiiy of the cows were close to profit, but-in spite pf this prices were really good, and anything near to calving brought "big money:"-TH,cTsi<!HiriglJr6ved very spirited, and the auctioneer liad no-diffi-culty m disposing of the varioxia, lots, the sale beint; voteel one of the most successful-held in the district for some time. The implements, pigs, etc., were eagerly comueted for, and realised full values. ''•-." ,'■■•• Rusplierries are probably- tlie' most:--]ir<jfit-able of fruits for market-growing, and.tha rrw varieties. " Superlative" and "Hornet' yre the best paying kinds to grow.
