(Pee United Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, March: 19. For the second day's races beautiful weather prevailed, but the ground was heavy after yesterdays rain. The attendance was again rather meagre. The sum put through the totahsator amounted to £3102. The following are the results: — A7FlS inl. St Tkes' of 35sovs- Five furlongs— M Scott s Lepanto, 7.0 (21b .overweight)? 1; Mr Batchelor's.Petroline, 8.4, 2; Mr Harris's Belligerent,, 9.2, 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, lmin 7sec. Dividend, £i 2s. iSgahere Hack Race, of 22sovs. Seven furlongs—Mr Markey's St. Martin, 3.G l- Mr Claughessy's National, S.B, 2; Mr Noble's'Benniore 8.10, 3. Also started: Izal, Silver Rose, Millstream, and Bloonisbury. Cannonite was lelt at the post. Won by a head. Time, lmin 39 4-ssec. Dividend, £i Us. Midland Railway Stakes, of lOOsovs. One mile and a furlong.—Mr M'Gurk's -Aide-de-camp 9.5, l;.Mr Fairbairn's Marina, 7.12, 2^ Mi- Harrison's Cameo, 8.9, 3. Also started-' Jlaria, Won by nearly two lengths after a w Sg 3 raCe" le> 2min 72-ssec. Waiiiora fell at the last hurdle, and her rider narrowly escaped. This allowed Clarence to come 111 a" easy winner. Time, 3min 12 l-ssec.,Divi-Coiinty Plate, of SOsovs. SL\- furlongs.—Mr Harris s Seabrook, 8.3, 1; Mr Sinclair's Rua maha'-iga, 10.4, 2; Mr Claughessy's Artillery Maid, 6.7, 3. Also started: Aide-de-camp Skirmisher Petrohne, Parahauga, Apremete. From a bad start Seabrook got the lead, and kept it all the way, winning easily. Time, lmin 22sec Dividend, £5 11s. Ahaura Hack Race, of 20sovs. Sis furlongs.— -Mr Claughessy's National, 8.8, 1; Mr Noble's benmore, 8.10, 2; Mr Barnes's Izal-, 8.10, 3 Also started: The Dodger, St. Martin, and MjUstrcam Won easily. Time, lmin 23 4-ssec. Dividend, M. The owner of Benmore lodged a protest for alleged crossing, but is was disuiisoed. Farewell Handicap, of 25sovs. One mile.— Mr Batchelor's Petroline, 8.0, 1; Mr Preece's Speculator, 7.G, 2; Mr Fairbairn's Marina, 7 9 |3. Ihese were the only starters. Won by several lengths. Dividend, JE3 Is.
