THE SHOOTING SEASON.
. (Per--United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 16. The shooting season is fixed for the Lake ■ district for native game from 31st March 1 to 30th June ; for Southland and Otago districts (excepting certain areas described in the Gazette), imported game from Ist May to 31st July, and for native game from the 31st March to 30th June; Waitaki and Waimate districts, imported game from Ist May to.3lst July, and native,game from 31st .March to 30th June. Regulations for deer-shooting in Otago are gazetted. Fallow deer bucks only may be taken from the 15th March to the 30tii April, and red deer (stags only) from the Ist April to the 31st May.
