Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 16. The Government, have consented to examine any Sydney passengers passing through Victoria en route to New Zealand. SYDNEY, March 16. , Mr Gilruth, the New Zealand expert who is. examining into the plague, has been inoculated with prophylactic. (Per United Pimss Association.) AUCKLAND, March 16. The Mararoa, which, has been at the quarantine station since Monday, will be released to-iiioiww, and she will then come up to the wharf. The passengers have been whiling away the time with boating, fishinj,, concerts, etc. The effect of the quarantine regulations upon the travelling public may be judged from the fact that the Westralia, a, very popular boat, which left Sydney on Wednesday, has but eight saloon and 19 steerage passenger's. ' ". The steamer Moana will go direct to Motuiiu to. fumigate the Auckland mails. She will take coal in up the harbour, but will have no communication with the shore.
