Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. THE WAR LOAN. LONDON, March 15. Applications for the war loan closed today. The Chancellor of the Exchequer wanted £35,000,000, but about £500,000,000 was offered. AWESTRALIAN LOAN. A Westralian loan of a million, bearing 3 per cent, interest, with a minimum of £93 10s, is announced. Tenders will be opened next Thursday. TAXING COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS. The Associated Chamber of Commerce have passed a resolution protesting against the charge for licenses to be issued to commercial travellers in the colonies, declaring that the practice is a serious interference with trade.
