HIGH STREET SCHOOL OLD BOYS' CLUB.

A large and enthusiastic meeting o£ old boys belonging to • the school was held in the Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. • In the unavoidable absence o£ Mr J.; H. Hosking, Mr J. TV. Smith was voted to the chair. In the course of his remarks, the.Chairman said that he was glad to renew his acquaintance with so many of the old scholars of the school, and hoped that tho club to be formed would assist in promoting their general welfare, while it bound them together by social ties.

It was unanimously decided to form an Old Boys' CJub in connection with the school, and it is intended that members shall.meet twice a week for gymnastics during tho winter, .while evenings of a social and literary nature will be provided for. The following office-"bearers - were then elected: —President, Mr J. H. Hoskins; vice-presidents, Messrs J. W. Smith, TV. J. Strong, and W. Davies, jun.; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Lomas. A committee Of seven was also chosen. The annual subscription was fixed at ss, and tho colours of the club were decided to be the same as those of the school—viz., red, white, and blue. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting. .

The next general meeting is to be held on Monday, 19th inst., for the purpose of electing a captain of the club. It is desirable that all interested should make a special effort to be present.
