ALHAMBRA THEATRE.
Notwithstanding the strong counter attrac* tiens, there wci3 a crowded house at the Alhambra Theatre on Saturday evening, and Mr Fuller's Minstrels gave another successful en-, tortainment. Master Jack Hagan was recalled three times for his farcical specialty " There was Houligan." Miss Lucy Fraser was several times encored, and her solo " Side walks oi New York" was loudly applauded. Mr H. Thomas and Mr Bartlett contributed some very amusing 3ongs, and Miss Ruby Clifford was as popular as ever, all her songs taking well, and her serio-comic items "A girl can't do. everything " and " The wrong girl" were particularly good of their class. The • sketch "Moonlight Flirtations" was most"entertaining, and the same is true of the concluding farce, "The Two OOiellos." Mr Martyn Httgan took occasion to say farewell on 'behalf of his wife, his son, and himself, to their Dunedin patrons; returned, thanks for very generous appreciation, and expressed the hope that they would visit Dunedin again before the termination of their contract with Mr \Fuller; Ha also announced that the Messrs Leslie Bros., comic musicians and specialty artists, and the new serio-comic artists, the Andrew Sisterß, would appear on Monday evening, and give such an entertainment as wa3 not likely to disappoint anyone. Mr Fuller, he said, had now" several places of entertainment in the colony to keep going, and, having been liberally patronised, was determined to place before them the best talent that could be ■ engaged in Australia.
Another entertainment will be given this evening, with, as announced, an entire change of programme, and the Leslie Bros, and Andrew Sisters will make their first appearance in Dunedin. ■ '. ■_
