AUCKLAND NEWS NOTES.

AUCKLAND, April'l4.

Information has been received from Home of the death, at Cheltenham, of Mrs Beckham, widow of the late Judge Becklmm, and daughter of the late General Baddeley, commanding the Royal Engineers, New Zealand.

A deputation from the Anglican Synod, consisting of Canon Gould, Revs. George Mac Murray and K. W. Gillam, waited on tiie Auckland Ministers' Association, with the view of co-operating in the Bible in schools question. After hearing the views of the deputation, the matter was remitted to a committee to make further inquiries, and report to a future meeting.

Tuberculosis is rife in cattle here.

The Rev. G. W. Budd has been appointed chaplain to the hospital, gaol, lunatic asylum, and Costley Home. He has done similar work in England.
