The Dunedin Rifles (Burl's Corps) fired the Uiircl match fo* Mr A. Burt's.Chnllenge Cup on Saturday. The ranges were 300, 500,; and. 600 yards. Tho following were the.best' scores: — Sergeant Hay. scr, 71; : Sergeant/ Jackson, ser. 01; Lieutenant Willis, scr,_ s*; I'rivato Ward, 15 points, 55; Private M'Gregor, 8 points, 51. , The second-class shots also fired the .first competition for Mr J. A. Burt's gold medal. The ranges were 300 and 500.j;nx,.15. The fol-lowing-were the best snores:—Corporal Harrison. 14- points, 51; Private Simmpnds, 4. points, 50; Private Parsons, 6 points, 40; Private Hart, 8 points. 34. . ; . On Saturday afternoon, at their new range, Fair View, Pelichet Kay, the Highland Rules fired the first of three competitions, eomprisine No. 1 Match, for trophies presented by the company. The conditions were 10 shots and sighter at 200 yds (kneeling) and 500 yds (any position). The afternoon was very pleasant for shooting, a light breeze b owing across tho range from the left.
