THE EFFECTS OF DROUGHT.
SYDNEY, January 23, (Received Jan. 23, at 9.30 a.m.)
The drought is disastrous in the Narrabri district. On one station, carrying 100,000 sheep, half of them are dead, while on smaller properties the losses of stock are proportionate^ heavy. Many of the selectors are abandoning their holdings.

The imports to the colony last year reached £16,768,000, being' an" increase of £1,314,000. The exports were valued at £1i>,517,000, being a decrease of £867,000 compared with those of the previous year.'
