•The monthly meeting 'of the Otago 'School Commissioners. was held yesterday, and attended by Messrs J. "Walker Bain (in the chair)'rAvßaldey, W.: Dallas, and J. Green:

in connection with the application from Mr M'Lauchlan to protect section 2 of 246,.Hokoriui, it: was resolved that tlie* matter' be' left in the-hands of Messrs Bain and ;Baldey to get an estimate of the cost of putting in groins. Mr J. V. Macquoil, lessee of section 39, block V. Papakaiq, auplied for ; a reduction of rent, owing to a loss, of land and fencing by the encroachment of the sea.—The matter was referred, to the secretary to report wher. visiting the district. . .
