SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
The monthly meeting of the Kaikorai School Ccn.mittee was hold last night, when there were present—Messrs Benlham (in tho chair), Ca'der, Cameron, Crawford, Ferry,' Mathcson, Moir, and Scott. The Head Master reported th?'. the attendance last month was as follows:—Wove, '10!; girls, 372;— total, 770. The average ntteadfuico -'or the mouth had bsec— Boys, 373; girls, 313;— total, 710. -Accounts amounting to £5 Ss were parsed for payment. An application ior the use of the tennis court was declined. The Visiting Committee rcpcrtcJ that a number of shrubs had been pLintel round the playground, and other necessary improvements attended to. Messrs Calder and Scott were reappointod a visiting committee for the ensuing month. Th monthly meeting of Hie Macandrew road School Committee, held on Wednesday night, was attended by Messrs Milburn (chairman), XJc-selin, Somerville, Todd, Smith, Craig, Scott, and Lowry. Tho Head Master reported that tho average attendance for tho month was— Boys, 202.5; girls, 129.0;— total, 332.2. The number on the roll for the same period was— ' boys, 226; girls, 218.5;— total, 401.5. A request by* Mr Knott for the privilege of holding a concert in the school was granted. The Head Master's report on the recent examination was laid before the meeting. The committee expressed themselves highly gratified at the result, and instructed the clerk to write conI gratulating the teachers on the success of their I labours.
