In the course of his denial of the Hooley charges, Mr Praed produced a letter iii , which Hooley offered him £35,000 and j £5000 a year to act as his confidential ad- j viser. ' j Earl De la Warr, Mr Martin D. Rucker (Hooley's partner), a man named Broadley (who, Hooley stated, had received £10,000 from him for managing the press), and an- ' other named Bradshaw are being charged : with contempt for endeavouring to induce j Hooley to alter his evidence with regard to the causes of his bankruptcy.
