ROSLYN MILLS'BENEFIT SOCIETY.

The annual general meeting of the members of the Roslyn Worsted and Woollen Mills Yearly Benefit Society was held at the mills on the 24th inst. In the unavoidable absence of the-vice-president of the society (Sir R. O. Glendining), MV Walter Smith was voted to the chair. The secretary (Mr J. W. Parkinson) submitted the report of the committee ami the balance sheet for. the year, which were unanimously adopted. The statement of accounts showed that the members' fortnightly payments for the year amounted to JK242 13s while a balance pf £2 3s 7d had been brought forward from last year. The pajments made duriDg the year ou account of sick and funeral allowances amounted to £93 4s Id, and to the balance was added the usual liberal bonus ot j£si given by Messrs Ross and Gl«ndining, and also interest amounting to £i Ss id.
