The monthly meeting of the above council was held at Balclutha on Friday afternoon; present-The Chairman (Mrßobertfon) and Grs Cnmming, M'Neil, Wallace, Mitchell, Hay, Johnstou, M'Lachlan, and Bradiield.

Oa the motion of Gr M'Lachian, seconded by Gr Mitchell, it was resolved—"That the leaolatiou passed by this council fixing the hour of meeting at 1 p.m. be rescinded, and that in future the council Meetings be held at 4-.15 p.m." The Chaidman moved and Cc Cumming seconded—"That the engineer call tenders for maintenance gravel for WaikoiUoi road, tenderers to st*ta price at per yard and per mile."-—Circied. It was agreed, on the motion of Cr EJ'Nitit, seconded by Cc Brabfikld—" I'hi\b a concrete crossiog bs" formed across the K»ihiku River, on the Te Huuka-Olifton road, the work to be done either by tender or day labour aa the engineer may consider best." Cr Bl'NfiiL moved—" That 10 chains, mora or les?, on block road, between- Mr Manly Hilchens's and Mr Robert Teliord's properties, be formed and metalled : tbafc the engineer prepara plans aod specificaiioES for the same. Tenders to be in by next meeting."—Curried. Oii the motion of Cc M'Km it was resolved— " That tenders be called for uietalliug 20 chains, and as much mote as there may be funds available for, of Clifton main read ; the metal to te of similar qualify to that used in other pait3 of tbe same road."
