Tbsy reminded the council that a loan ot £1000 would be due on April 20, 1900; and recommended that the Sinking Fuod Csmmi«sioners be at once written to and asked to arrange their investments so that tha gnm would be available for paying the lean off on due date. —Adopted.. The Works Committee reported on a variety of work that had been done iti the borough. In connection with the pipe drain at No. 4 street, Opoho, the inspector had been instructed to get the necessary work done at an estimate of £3 2s. They resomraended that the attention of the Tramway Company ba drawn to the dangerous condition of the tramway rails, between Norraanby and Hawthorn.—Adopted. The General Committee recommended that obe Mayor, Cr Anderson, and the Town Clark be appointed to enter into an agceement with Mr J. L. Wilson to remove Dightsoil at is od per single service, 20s per annum for a fottnightly service, and 183 per annum for a mouthly service. The seats at the tramway terminus having baen der.teoyed, the committee bad directed that they should ha re-erected, and a reward offered for a conviction against those destroyingthean should the offence be repeated .- Adopted, Cr Blurray's name being added to the J. ana B.
