CRICKET CLUB MEETINGS.

OPOHO CLUB. The* annual meeting of the Opoho Cricket Club was beJd in the Great Northern Hotel on Situruay nigbt. Mr A. M'Lean (captain) occupied the chair, and there were between 20 and 30 present. The annual report was read by the secretary as follows : — Gentlemen, —Oa behalf of. your committee I herewith present you the seventh annual report aud balance sheet. It ia gratifying to note that the club's record for laßt season was an improvement on that of the previous one, and with the number of premising young players on our list of membership the coming season should be cvea more successful. Cup Matches.—The Senior Eleven played 9 matciies, ■winning'!, losing 4, and drawing 1. The Second Eleven p!a3r<>d 13 matches, winning 7, and losing 6. The Third Eleven played'H matches, winnitig 6, losing 7, and drawing 1. Membership.—There were OS playin.^members and 17 hou. members, making v total of 75, an increase of 15 on thu previous year. Finance.— Financially your club is in a found position, the total receipts for. the year amounting to £H) 17n 9i, and the expenditure to ;£3sl6's 4d, leaving a credit balance of £5 is'Sd. Gcaeral. —The club was represented in intercolonial and interprovinoiel matches by Messrs Clf.rke, Gunthorpe, and Wells, and we.take this opportunity of expressing our regret that the club has lost the services of Mr .Welk, through his departure from Dunediu. Your committee also desire to place on record their sincere regret at the death of Mr it. li. Boddington, a late member of the club, who died soinewnat suddenly at Perth, Westralia, in the early part of the year. In the First .Eleven the president's (Mr Job Wain) cup has been won by A. Clarke, with a butting average of 254, aiid the vics-prcnaent's (Mr A. 51'Uonald) trophy by F. Wells with n bowling average of 31-65." W. Gollar wins ?,lr J. Cummings's bac for junior batting with an -Average of 15 I,,and — i Alurchie the 'vice-president's (Sir S. S. Myers) bat with a bowling average of 5'S5. The club presents two bats for third class trophies,. S. Drake (battine average 11) and F. Coombs (bowling average SS) bfcing the winners. TheOarnaru First Siftven played their annual match against us at Opoho on Ohriatiua* Bay, and suffurecl defeat, but at the return match, played in Oamaru ou January 2, the result was reversed. Your. Second Eleven also journeyed to Oatnaru on Christmas Day, and were beaten b3' the local players. The ground is being top-dressed for the inconiirjg aedaon, and your committee would impress on all players the necessity for hard and constant practice. 'The thanks of the club, are due to the donors of the various trophies,' and to your secretary ' and treasurer for the manner in which they have perlormed their duties.: The adoption of the report was proposed by tha Chairman, seconded by Mr J. H'Ahthub, I and carried.

The following office-bearers were elected. for the ensuing year :—President, air J. Wain; vice-presideutd, Messrs S, S. Myers and A. M'Donald ; captain, Mr A.
