Auckland, February 19. Kenneth Bayhe, the victim of the Te Kuiti stabbing case on December 17, is said to be getting batter. Since his entry into the Waikato,gospital till a week or so ago he lay in a very precarious condition, and his dying depositions were taken, but yesterday he had improved so far as to be able to get out of bed. He i» well known throughout New Zealand as a long-distance runner, and has been in his time, and probably is now, the best mile runner in New Zealand. The two men William Carlson and Charles William Henry White, charged with being perpetrators of the outrage of which Bayne was -the victim, were again before the Police Court this mornieg, and further remanded for one week.

Frost, and Samuel Parker, the object of the suit being to get tbe court to declare the nature of the trust upon which the property of the Mount Eden United Methodist Free Church is held. The defendants are trustees of the latter church. The case arises out of the recent union of Methodist churches; the defendants claiming that fchou°h the Mouni Eden Church forms a part of the enlarged denomination, they still hold the property independently.
