CHANGES IN THE SERVICE.

: The following changes have been decided upon by the authorities of the Government :—

F. W. Maclean, resident engineer, Wellington, transferred to Auckland as district manager, vice A. V. Macdonald, who is to become locomotive engineer there in succession ,t° ,M r J??.*..^whoJs _to take up .the duties of relieving engineer. ~ T. A. Peterfcin, district^ manager;JWettport, is to come to Wellington to tskVup'the position of locomotive engineer, vice H. H. Jsekißß; who ;*ill succeed A. L. Beattie as locomotive -engineer on the Napier and- Taranaki section, Mr Beattie going to fill a similar position on the Hurunui-Bluff eectiou. ■ - . '.-.v.

H. A. J. Christophers, district manager, Nelson, is to hn-.-ve maintenance and locomotive engineer, on tha Midland and GreyBrunuer and Hokifeika section, and will be succeeded by Georjje Richardson, who has been relieving engineer for some years. ■';:'■ • ?• D- Harris, district manager, Kawakawa, is to be transferred to Westport, to take charge ot the maintenance »w3 locomotive departments tuere. . • .
