ACCIDENT TO THE MIOWERA.
Press Association-^By Telegraph— Copyright. SrDJiEY, February 9. During the.last trip of the Miowera to Vancouver one of her boilers burst through shortness of Water.' The Marine Board here has held ah-inquiry, andfopb'd that the-stop-cock connected with the water column had been unaccountably closed, and also that by the wrongful act or default of the fifth engineer, the feed^hsak-ysliß ,*& heeij closed, preventing the requisite inflow. The board regretted' they had no power to punish the engineer as he did nothold a certificate. Tbe.second,an_>ineer, who was on the watch! was not altogether 'bl&meleas, ahd wad cantiohed.. The damage to-the boiler was between LIOOO and LISOO. "v ■ _■
