GENERAL ELECTION NOTES.
From what is known of the voting of tha affiliated bodies there is every likelihood of Messrs Pinkerton, Millar, and Hutchison being the candidates selected for the City by tbe Workers' Political Committee. A Christchurch telegram states that Mr George Swarm is announoed as a candidate for tbe Avon seat. The Reef ton Miners' Union have unanimously reßolred to support Mr O'Regan, and the co« operation of other unions is to bs asked. Mr Frank H. Smith, a young sheepfarmor, oE Albury, has announced himself as a candidate for the Timaru seat. Mr C. V. Clarke, of Waim&te, is the fourth declared candidate for the Waitaki seat.
Mr J. M'Keague is the fourth candidate for the Ashbarton seat.
