News from tbe East states that 100 women and girls comp-ittod suicide ia the River Euphrates, at Charput, in order to escape outrage at tbe hand, of the Turks. October 12. At a meeting of 30,000 workmen in Hyde Park resolutions were passed urging the Government to take steps to put au end to tha massacres in Turkish dominions. There were 12 platforms for the speakers. Mr John Barns protested against the parade of phantasm and fank. Athens. October 12. A party of Turks killed Gi-outas, the Mace-, donian leader, who recently defeated a detachment of troop?, and carried his head on a bayonet to Grevna.
