H., Shelton (Vice-president) was voted to the chair. Mr M; Cohen wrote stating that he would bs only too pleased to attend the meeting, an he. purnoted formulating a scheme for acquiring a grotlnd at tbe north end of the town for association purposes. A subsequent communication stated that Mr Cohen would be nnable to be present owing to indisposition. He hoped that whoever won the bat be presented would npbold the good name of the club with it. He intimated that he would offer another bat for competition this season.—Received. ;.;'-/ EBPOET AND BALANCE SHEET. rha following report was submitted: — In presenting tbeir thirty-third annual report reur committee have the pleasure to intimate that) ' the past season bas been a successful one as compared with the previous year Financially; the club is in a Bound position, notwithstanding the heavy expense incurred in keeping the ground in order. The balance sheet shows assets of the value of £1119 a 3d, while there are no liabilities. The First .Eleven were hardly so successful as in the previous season, and there is plenty of room for improvement in all departments of the game. However, the team was principally composed of young members, who showed promise towards the, end of the season, and greater attention to practice should place the eleven in a much better position. A. Turnbull, with a batting : average of 226, secures Mr II: Cohen's trophy, J. Black (14 3) and 'A. bpehne (irß) having the next best averages. 'J he brunt of the bowling was borne by T. Ritchie (who took 41 wickets at a cost ot 124 runs per wicket) and J. Anderson (22 wickets at US per wicket). W". Hutchinsbn, however, secured the beat average, taking 17 Wickets at 10"5 runs per wicket. . The club was represented by. J. Blacjc in the match New South Wales v. Ota jb, arid by F. "Williams in' the match against Southland. The Second Eleven jlayed 35 matches, winning eight and: losing leven. A far better record would have been ibown had not the seniors dra»n so heavily ipon them. L. Joel (17-2) ( A. -Robertson (137), md H. White (11 6) he«d the batting, and C. Cor»ett (4K wickets at 5-l runs per wicket) and J. Spehce (18 wickets at a cost of 65 runs per aricket) the bowling. The President's Cup team, who were runners-tip, wa3 the most successfulileven) as they won 15 matches and only lost two. The best averages were obtained by J. B. M'Conaochie (18), B. Ringer (12), J. Ireland (11-2), and J. spence (10-l) in batting, .and in bowling phenomenal averages were obtained by A. Dickel (who took 31 wickets at 18 runs per wicket) and G. Duke,(46 wickets at 26per wicket). The success of this team w*s mainly due to the enthusiasm displayed by the younger members. A series of. Wednesday, matches was played during the Beason five being won and one drawn. During-the.New Year holidays the club sent a team to Lawrence and Milton, winning the fonnermatch and losing the latter. Too much credit cannot be given to the country clubs forthe manner in which they entertained the team, and is tie trip was so thoroughly enjoyable the playeis »re looking forward to making a return visit. Ot»go Cricketers' Carnival.^The thanks of the club are due to the ladies who kindly assisted at the club's stall, the result being that our funds were considerably augmented. Your committee sincerely trust that the same harmony will con- j tiriue during the incoming season, and that mem- ' berg by strict attention lo practice and punctuality at matches will keep up the standard of the Albion Cltib. : The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £5.9»3d. ■■■■ : , - - The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report, referred to Mr Cammings, the licensee of the hotel, being compelled to be absent. It was Mr Cummings'g intention to present a bat for the best batting s.verage in the Second ESeven. It seemed to him (the chairman) that members might congratulate themselves in having maintained the old club. They were well supplied with material. He was very proud • indeed that the club bad such good officers to keep it in existence. It -was the oldest club in Dunedin, tind he would regret exceedingly to see it go dovra. 'He wonld like to see it more prosperduij in the cricket status, but this rose and fell in every clnb. Whatever the success of the club might have been, there was a good feeling amoiigst members. They were rich in this, although they might not be the best players under the sun. Real cricket did not consist in being the premiers of the colony, but.in the good spirit and good fellowship it engendered. The present cup teams seemed to have worked very well together, and the Mitch Committee might keep that fact in viow, and let them continue together as much as possible. He proceeded to refer to' the carnival, and said that the ladies were due the clnb's best thanks. The balance sheet showed that affairs pecuniarily were in an excellent condition. He hoped everyone would do their best to get into the 18 or 22 that would meet Australia, and he expressed gratification at the manner in which tb». citizens had come forward to guarantee tbe money to the association in connection with the visit. The citizens were always helpful in connection with outdoor sports.' He referred to the fact that the club still had the £5 in tbe layings bank, and trusted that it might ba left Retouched as a Best egg.

Mr L. Joel seconded the adoption of the report and balance sheet, and it was carried unanimously.
