OTAGO DOCK TRUST.
The monthly meeting of the Otago DockTrust, held ou ThiuMday afternoon, was attended (ay Messrs A, Thomson (chairmap), H, Gourley, and E. G. Allen. An apology for the unavoidable non-attendance of the mayor (Mr N. Y. A.,Wales) was received.
■ The Secretary of the Otago Htrbour Board fequostad permission for that body to doposit on the trust's endowment the sppil which would accrue from tha dredging which would be pecessary to enable vessels drawing 26ft to berth alongside the George street pier. ; Tec CHAfBMAN observed that ir the railway authorities carried out their proposal to ren*PTe' the Btones from the middle of the George Street pier and from the embankment along tbe edge pf the endowment the i.poil from the dredging could well be deposited behind the wall.
It was agreed to grant permission; the work to be done subject to the • approval of' the engineer of the trust.
-The'Finance Committee recommended thai;, accounts amounting to £2".7 9s 8d be paused for payment. -The debit balance at the bank was* *E210,1s 7d.—The report was adopted.'
