LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held in the board's office, Government Buildings, on Wednesday, when there were present—Messrs Dallas (in the chair), Clark, Duncan, and M'Kerrqw.

Maniototo.—Mrs S. Tregonning applied for a license to occupy part of section 15, block X; Maniototo —It was resolved to grant a yearly liceniie under section 116 of the act at the annual rental of 9d pßr acre, with license fee £1 Is.

.Maerewhentja.—lt was resolved to cancel for non-payment of fees the application for a license to occupy 9 acres in block JX, Maerewhenua.

Biho.—J. F. Andrews applied for a license to occupy section 23, block XIII, Rimu district school reserve.—To be offered a yearly'license at annual rental of 6dper acre, with license fee.

. NASEBY.-Mr "W. F. Inder, on behalf of D. Pullen, applied to have rent of section 44, block I, Naseby, held under yearly license, reduced.— The board decided that it had no power to teduce rent. ' ,

PoMAHAKi.—S. Hansen applied to have part of section 16, block XIII, Pomahaka Downs estate, set aside as a lignite reserve.—Consideration deferred.

Blackston'e;—James M'Kuight applitd to surrender hia occupation 'license over sections 2 and 3, block XIII, Blackstone district, and that lie be granted a yearly • license at a reduced rent. — Referred 4 tb ranger for report. Christina Williamson applied to surrender small grazing Run 224f, Blackstone district.—Decided to recommend the Governor to authorise the commissioner of Crown, lands to accept the surrender, the lessee being unable to continue in occupation. Ranger to value improvements.

Valuation for Improvements.—The board authorised the Receiver of Land Revenue to pay over the undermentioned amounts received as valuation for improvements:—Run 22Sb, St. Bathans, £66 8s; 51X; Waipori, £274; and 140 a, Tapanui, £57185. Lake.—James Dunery applied for Run 14, Lake' district.—Application approved, and resolution of 4th inst., grouping this with Run 346, rescinded. 1 Catmns.—The board approved of an application by J. Cox to exchange pastoral lease for lease in perpetuity over section 14,: block VIII, Catlins. Dunback.—The consideration of Thomas Glfford's application to surrender small grazing ran, section 1, block X, Dunback, was deferred for a fortnight.

Woooland.: —An application .to transfer psrpetual lease of section 6, block IV, Woodland district, from J. P. Milnes to Robert Crawford \vas approved. Moeraki,—Charles Turner applied for a license for bush-cuttiug over five acres in section 15, block XIII, Moeraki district.—Referred to lanjer for report. : '

Waihola.—Robert Shand applied to lease about half an acre of land adjoining block XIII, Wai' hola.—Referred to the ranger for report. Table Hilt.—Thomas Mills applied to purchase section 25, block 11, Table Hill district, held under deferred payment.—Purchase approved. Glenomaku —D. Ryrie applied to purchase section 77, block VI, Glenomaru, for cash.—Application approved.
