Invsecabgill, Febrnary 20.
The Otago v. Southland cricket match waa concluded to-day. Robertson and FindUy (the not outs of the previous day) resumed at 12 sharp. Robertson batted nicely for 11, when he was taken by Baker off Fisher—a good catch. Findlay retired for a well-played innings of 23, showing good form. Boyes was not out with 6. Otago commenced their task of making 100 after lunch. Baker was the first to retire, bowled by Robertson for <-. Dawes took his place, only to see Liggins tv&en at sheit slip by Kingsland off Robertson for 5. Clarke came in, and all the time he was there Southland supporters were doubtful. Findlay very quickly raised Southland's hopes by bowling :, Clarke, who was well set and batting weU. With Clarke gone it was anybody's match, and in this case the anybedy was Southland. The fielding of the SovrttUand team at tho pinch won the match. The catches by Wilson and C. Kane were brilliant, as was the bowling of Robertson and Findlay. Clarke (with 32) was top score, and although unwell showed sterling cricket. Scores :— Southland.— Second Innings.
