FITZGERALD BROS.' CIRCUS.
The large marquee erected on the reclaimed ground, in which Messrs Fitzgerald Bros.' circus troupe are performing, was crowded in every part last night, ond the spectators gave every demonstration of being well satisfied with' the feats gone through. by the members of the company. The male portion, led by Mr F. Jones, gave acrobatic specialties, Little George Collier performed a hurdle apt, La- Belle Rose a see-saw act. on the revolving globe, and the performing pony Commodore was put through his facings. The Brothers Eclair went through their wonderful contortion act, and the manner in which they bent and twisted themselves was surprising. Double-hurdle riding by Georgie and Harry .was cleverly done, and Mdlle. Adelina AntoDib's feats on the trapeze, which Ere quite a feature of-the performance, were witnessed with wonder. The lady exhibits great daring, and is exceedingly graceful throughout. On the clown Leonard introducing his comical animals a rather amusing scene took place, for a for terrier, presumably belonging to one of the audience, mcds a fnrious onslaught on some of them, and matters became ludicrous in the extreme and continued so for tome time before the dog could be,pacified, Mr Probasco's talking horse Mahomet is au example of the extreme intelligence of the equine species. Mr Peart repeated his diye from tbe dome of the marquee into the tank of water below, and also disengaged himself from a sack after allowing himself to drop into tbe tank. This was cleverly managed, Mr Peart being submerg ed while he freed himself of the c.ick. The remainder of the performets were all good in their several acts, and the troupe is certainly one of the beet that has visited this city. In • the afternoon there was a performance which was also well patronised. This evening the troupe appear again in the same programme
