DUNBDIN JOCKEY CLUB'S RACES.
Yesterday morning Hippomencs and Qipsy Grand ran a mile »od iv-half, Martin bringing them home from tbe five furlongs. Silver Speo and Skirmisher were led neven fiirlongn by S iraccn. Maremma and Rangiataa ran half a mile, the black homo finishing in front; Remorse II ployed up at sighting the tapes, bat beat Revolt, Lady fionmus, «nd Van Buren in their sßveri-'foripng spin. "Hazeppa" writes as follows concerning to-day's races, which begin at 12.30. The Hurdle Race will brrag ont a good Held, of which, _the,best, presumably, ara Liberator, Revoltj Come-away, and Brin, though some have a fanoy for the good-looking BUesmere. I j take Brin or Liberator to win. The Champagne | Staked in not air easy race to pick. Bombshell looks well, but. has not been reen extended at tha Forbury ; St. Oaida and Lord Rosslyn are both in good heart and will ran forward, fine colt having improved quickly in tha last | few daya; Dalliance is ' not slow; and Marlin. is . just about at her best, j There aye two others in the field, but I I think I have named the bast, and my fancy, j hegottcin of the last few days'work, is Marlin, j vriio will, perhaps, find most opposition from i Lord R'osilyu. The Cap promises to be a good j go between Saracen *nd Gipsy Grand, and I | like the Utter, believing that he is cured of his •waywardness and will prove himself a sound j arayer. As to the Pabiiona' Handioap, it is : rumoured that Hippomenes may uot start. If he does so I think he will win. In his absence, I Hfco W»rrington_ and Maremma. My selections, in short, areas follow : Hnrdlss—Betm or Libbkatob. Cbampagne—Maklin. j Cup—Gipsy Gband. Selling Kacie—Bizahee, with Miss Madge dangorons. , Publicanf.' —Hippomenes. Maiden—Remobsb 11, or in his abseaee CaiiKonahot. ,' . .■ . . Selling Two-year-old Race—La Cabitas or aiARWis op Zetland (whichever gets away). Welter—Rbmobse II or Jane Eybb.
