MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday, February 17. (Before Hr E. H. Carew, S.M.) The Massey-Harris Company (Limited) v. Isaaa Pike (Wellington).—Claim £16 2s Std, on a dishonoured promissory cote. —Mr Cook appeared for ths plaintiff company for whom judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs, in the absence of the defendant.
Uilmour Bros. v. Henry Meade.—Claim £10 8s 4d, for goods supplied.—The defendant having admitted the debt, judgment was given for tha amount claimed, with costs. '
R. S. Sparrow and Co v. Keith. Ramsay.—Claim ,£lO, being balance of amount alleged to ba due for materials furnished and work and labour done by the plaintiffs for the defendant in effecting repair! to the s.s. iDvercargill.—Mr Woodhouse anpeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr F. R. Chapman for tha defendant, who put in a counter-claim for £13 damages for the breach by plaintiffs of their contract to perform the works and services the subject of their contract within the stipulated rime. — This partly heard case was concluded, when his Worship gave judgments for the plaintiffs for £8 and costs (£4 8s), and for the defendant on the counter-claim fog £10 and costs (£4 18s).
