FITZGERALD BEOS.' NEW LONDON SENSATIONS.

Fitzgerald Bros, open their season of seven nights to-night on the Reclaimed land, and they will then introduce to the public of Dunedin their New London Company, specially engaged by thorn during their recent trip around the world for a New Zealand tour. The Australian and New Zealand press generally speak in moat eulogistic terma on tbe merits of this company, and together with the circus and menagerie a successful season should ba the outcome of the New London Company. A Sydney caper sayn that the marvellous contortions of the Brothurs Eclair, Mdllo. Adelina Antonio's wonderful feats oh the high trapeze, and Professor Penrt's great dive are the great features of the programme. After Mdlle. Antonio finishes her performance the applause of the audience is usually deafening, and she has repeatedly to reappear to bow her acknowledgments. High up in tbe roof she tumbles itnd twists and swings, and gvaoefully poses, playing a tambourine while turning somersaults, then dropping from the trapeze to the safety net in » serie3 of somersault*. She then mounts up to the ceiling—llsft from the ground,— and with a double backward somersault tumbles into the net, to jump up on to her feet immediately and smile profusely. Professor Peart's dive from a like height into a 6ft tank of water is equally sensational. One, two, three, four—while a man seemingly could count 18, the figure descends. Splosh ! The feat is accomplished. As for the Eclairs contortion acv, Sydney has seen the Donaldsons and other good men in the same line, but never the equal of the Scluira. In the terminal feat one of the brothers stands on his teeth on a email pedestal, and while in that extraordinary attitude twisting himself out of all shape. Mahomet, the talking horse, is another big feature. His intelligence is remarkable, and E. L. Probasco (his trainer) is to be highly complimented on the porfention of Mr pupil. The .Alton troupe of acrobats, trapezists, and flying ringists do various clever acts in an extraordinarily clean manner. The great show has bees combined ! with the circus and menagerie for the New JZaa- ■ land tour. Great preparations are being made an i the ground in Jetty street. A. tank has been sunk I for Professor Peart to do his dive, and other 1 arrangements are being carried out so th*t I patrons shall witness this show in comfort. The i band is under Herr Yon der Mehden, the great I cornet soloist.
