FORBURY TRAINING NOTES.

The rain that fell on Sunday made the Forbury good going yesterday morning, and several interesting gallops were seen by the early risers present. To begin with, Dalliance and Golden Fleece covered the Champagne Stakes course in taking style. They did not seem to be exerting themselves, but the watch '

told a tale of a really promising spin. Bishop sent Gipsy Grand, Hippomenes, and Marlin the same distance, and they also shaped very well, Hippomenea, ridden by Hunt, getting home a little in front. St. Onida and Lord Rosslyn jumped away together from the'sixfurlong mark, and, beginning easily, they accelerated the itpeed in the last half-mile, both pleasing the watchers. Rangiitea and Maremmi did six furlongs nfc a sound pscc without racing. Pifcch-attd-Toes and Bombshell went tag Borne distance, bnt were not fully extended, Bombshell being content to let the Dunedintrained filly lead him to the past. Saracen had a canter, and Skirmisher, after a similar preparation, joined Mr Allen's horse, tbe pair doing a medium - pace five furlongs with Bizarre. The latter was afterwards with Marquis of Zetland and Annoyance at jumping off from tbe starting machine, Annoyance having a further trial at the tapes with Errington, Wan-legion, and Cannonshot, these three running seven furiougs, the finish of. which found Errington in front—perhaps on tufferance. Salvo seamed disinclined to try when slipped with Stimulant, and the latter led st the end of a mile. Musket and Emmeline galloped six furlongs, and Jane Eyra went the same distance alongside Claremont. Cuirassina and Salute did five furlongs in fair st;le. The hurdlers Revolt, Rebel, Comeaway, Liberator, Ulster, Invader, and Ellesmere were treated to long exercise at a sound pace. Steady work of a useful character was done by Bimet&Uist, La Oaritap, Quatorze, Medicos, Mirage, Eothr.mstead, Ambu«h, Faramu, Tanpfi Maid, Corvette, Patrol. Captive, Silver Spec, Clarissa, and others, and a few cantered.

Some misapprehension has arisen over the Stanbury-Harding sculling match through Sullivan aoting. independently of his instructions from Staabury, and making first and second deposits. Stsnbury sayii that he is in honour bound to stick by his local backers, and argument is now proceeding between Sullivan and the local men as to where the reponsibility lies.
