The Btearrier Richmond, from Tahiti and Earatonga, brings a cargo of coffee, copra, fruit, &c, but owing to bad weather and heavy rains having prevailed it lUrakmga a considerable quantity of cargo could nob be shipped. The Torca, published at Earatonga, states that the local orange crop is fast coming to maturity, and a good season is expected from the coffee treess' Limejuice w*s coming in very fa9t, and tha supply will be a large one.
The female inhabitants at Aitntski are agitating for female suffrage.
The education tax ia beiDg paid up well by the natives, there bavirjg been little or no trouble in connection with its collection.
A good many coeoanut trees are being planted throughout the Cook Gcoup, which should in a few year* largely increase tha exports of copra.
