The market showed considerable improvement all round tp-d.ay, and although buyers in many instances offered slightly boater prices, still holders were so firm that transactions were ijot numerous. Upper .Thames shares were in especial favour. Queen of Waibi shares sold at 2s lOd, and ihere were further buyers at the same ptice.- Waihi. Silverfon .were wanted at 63s,'but there were no sellers under (jis. Talismans were also firmer, Ss being offered and refused! Many smaller-priced stock'in the Upper Thames were also inquired for. There was a distinctly ivnproypd feeling with regard to Coromandel shares, though transactions werfi almost nil.
